NEWS BULLETIN (APRIL 2024)

Series of motorcycle safety sessions launched.

Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service has announced a series of sessions to promote the safe use of motorcycles.

As part of the new Cumbria Ride Safe programme, the service is partnering with the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA)(north Cumbria & SW Scotland), Cumbria Police, IAM RoadSmart and BEEP Doctors Cumbria.

The sessions will cover advanced riding techniques, first aid, and scene safety at a collision site.

A RoSPA / IAM delegate will then take each of the participants out on a ride to observe their capability and suggest improvements for safer riding.

Following the success of the four sessions that have been run and completed, we are aiming to hold further sessions in September / October 2024. The sessions will be held from 10am to 4pm:
